Maryland guard Hakim Hart has career day as Terps roll to 4-0

Maryland guard Hakim Hart might not have a game like this for the rest of his career.
Hart scored 33 points in Maryland’s 90-54 victory over Saint Peter’s on Friday afternoon. His career high prior to today?
It was 11 points, set last week against Navy.
Hart never scored more than seven points as a freshman last season for Maryland. But this year, he appears ready for a breakout role on one of the most underrated teams in the Big Ten.
He scored those 33 points on just 13 shots. He made 5-of-7 attempts from the 3-point line and 6-of-7 from the charity stripe. Hart also accounted for four steals, three rebounds an assist and zero turnovers.
Jairus Hamilton, Eric Ayala and Donta Scott also scored in double figures for Maryland.
The Terps are now 4-0 in nonconference play, including wins over Old Dominion, Mt. St. Mary’s and Navy. Prior to this game, Maryland was ranked No. 38 in the country according to KenPom.com.
Maryland will be back in action again on Saturday against James Madison. It will face its first power conference opponent of the season on Wednesday against Clemson. The Terps’ Big Ten slate gets underway on Dec. 14 against Rutgers.
