Maryland is reportedly in the market to add a transfer guard out of Cincinnati this offseason.

According to reporter Jon Rothstein with CBS Sports, Maryland is among teams to target guard Keith Williams, a four-year player for the Bearcats. Williams is using the extra year of eligibility provided by the NCAA for the 2021-22 season.

Rothstein listed Arkansas, Maryland, Florida, and Western Kentucky as teams interested in Williams:

Williams was a star for Cincinnati this past season, leading the team in scoring at 14.3 points per game while also averaging 4.1 rebounds, 2.5 assists, and 1.2 steals. He is a career 42% shooter in 121 career games (83 starts) with the Bearcats.

Landing a player like Williams via the transfer portal would be a huge boost for the Terrapins this offseason. Maryland will return leading scorer Eric Ayala from last year’s team but is also losing Aaron Wiggins to the NBA and Darryl Morsell to transfer.
