Maryland basketball stars Bruno Fernando and Anthony Cowan Jr. plan on declaring for the NBA Draft and will hire agents, according to a report.
On Monday afternoon, Emily Giambalvo of the Washington Post reported that both players intend to declare for the draft and will hire agents. However, with the new rules, both players will still be eligible to return to Maryland if it’s their best option.
Both Fernando and Cowan were key pieces to Maryland’s team a year ago.

With the new rules, players who sign with an agent during the evaluation process are still eligible to return to school.

Fernando averaged a double-double for the Terrapins last season with 13.6 points and 10.6 rebounds per game. He was also a presence on the interior defensively, averaging just under two blocks per contest.
Cowan did a little bit of everything for Maryland, averaging 15.6 points, 4.4 assists and 3.7 rebounds per game. He also shot 32 percent from deep.
Maryland finished the season 23-11 and ended up fifth in the B1G. The Terrapins’ season ended on on a made layup by LSU in the closing seconds of the Round of 32.
