Maryland officially names new athletic director

The search is finally over, Maryland is sticking with interim athletic director Damon Evans.
The school announced the decision on Monday. Evans has served as AD of the program for six months in an interim capacity when Kevin Anderson was put on sabbatical in October. Evans served as Georgia’s AD from 2004-2010.
Maryland is expected to introduce Evans as the school’s hire on Tuesday:

Maryland has been named Damon Evans as its new AD. Evans had been serving as acting AD since Kevin Anderson went on sabbatical last October. News conference is scheduled for Tuesday.
