A day after Maryland posted a dominant victory over Virginia Tech in the Pinstripe Bowl, a quarterback has entered his name into the NCAA transfer portal.

Per ESPN’s Adam Rittenberg, backup quarterback Reece Udinski has decided to explore his options outside of College Park. He spent one season with the Terrapins, transferring in from FCS program VMI.

Udinski played in 4 games for Maryland during the 2021 season. He completed 11-of-15 passes for 100 yards with a touchdown and an interception. His best performance came in the Terrapins’ 62-0 win over Howard, completing all 5 passes for 73 yards and a touchdown.

In the 54-10 win over Virginia Tech in the Pinstripe Bowl, Udinski completed his lone pass for 10 yards in the game.

Udinski was never really expected to beat out starting quarterback Taulia Tagovailoa but he did provide depth and experience for the Terrapins at the position. Now, he’ll look for another opportunity with another program to close out his collegiate career.
