Maryland receives commitment from ex-Michigan running back

A former Michigan running back has decided to continue his career in the B1G East.

Thursday, Jordan Castleberry announced his intention to transfer to Maryland. He made his decision public with a post on Twitter.

“Proud to announce that I will be transferring to the University of Maryland to continue my academic and athletic career,” Castleberry wrote in a post.

Castleberry is a native of Lakewood, Ohio and spent one season in Ann Arbor before deciding to leave. The 5-foot-8, 185-pound back had three FCS offers as a high school recruit, receiving interest from Morgan State, Morehead State and Georgetown. He then chose to walk on at Michigan.

Castleberry did not appear in any games for the Wolverines in 2019. He will have four years of eligibility remaining, unless he’s forced to sit out a season due to NCAA transfer rules. He would then have three years left.
