Week 1 is upon us!

The 2019 college football season has already started with Week 0 action in the rearview mirror. Now it’s time for the rest of the teams to get rolling with a full slate of action set to begin in just a few days.

For Maryland, the Terrapins will kick off the season Saturday against Howard. Expectations are mixed for the first season under new head coach Mike Locksley, but he will try to improve on a 5-7 record for the team in 2018. If he does improve on that mark, Maryland will likely be going bowling for the first time since 2016.

As the Terrapins get ready to hit the field, the team announced three captains for the season opener. Those players are DB Tino Ellis, OL Ellis McKennie, and RB Jake Funk.

Kickoff for Saturday’s opener is set for 12 pm EST on BTN.
