The weekend lived up to Maryland’s high expectations.
A day after the Terps got their first four-star 2017 pledge from Cam Spence, they got another big commitment…and then they got another in the same Periscope video.
Four-star quarterback Kasim Hill announced his commitment to Maryland, as did three-star athlete Ayinde Eley:

The two commitments gave Maryland three in a 30-hour stretch, which doubled their 2017 class.
Hill is a major get for the Terps, who were still in search of their quarterback of the future after 2016 recruit Dwayne Haskins flipped to Ohio State. The St. Johns product is rated the No. 13 pro-style quarterback and the No. 295 player overall in the 2017 class.
The No. 2 player in the state of Maryland had offers from the likes of Michigan, Michigan State, Nebraska, Penn State and more, but stayed true to his DMV roots.
Eley also kept it local with his commitment to Maryland. The Olney, Md. recruit had offers from Iowa, Michigan State, Ohio State, Penn State and Wisconsin. The three-star athlete is the No. 10 recruit in the state of Maryland. The 6-5, 205-pound linebacker/receiver will add some versatility to Durkin’s rapidly growing 2017 class.
Hill ended his Periscope video with a simple message to Terps fans.
“The movement is real.”
