Maryland absolutely crushed Howard in its season opener.
The Terrapins won 79-0. That’s right.
79-0.

One of the many reasons why was because of wide receiver Dontay Demus Jr.
Demus caught three passes for 100 yards and 2 TD and one of them was a 62-yard score. After the game, Demus spoke with the media and the confidence exuding from the sophomore is infectious:
Dontay Demus appears to have not only the size and speed to be Maryland’s No. 1 receiving target but the mindset as well. pic.twitter.com/HXmNT3icXM

When you have confidence like this, you better have the skills to back it up. At least in Week 1, Demus showed that he has those skills. If Maryland can keep its offense rolling this entire season, seeing the Terrapins pull an upset or two may not be as shocking as some people might have thought.
Maryland plays No. 22 Syracuse in Week 2.
