Mass exit: Senior DE, freshman LS bring Michigan State’s transfer portal total to 6 since spring game

The number of Michigan State football players entering the NCAA transfer portal continues to grow.

On Monday afternoon, tight end Tommy Guajardo and offensive lineman Damon Kaylor became the latest Spartans to explore opportunities outside of East Lansing after spring ball came to a close on Saturday. Later in the day, two more players have entered their names in the transfer database.

Senior defensive end DeAri Todd and freshman long snapper Bryce Eimer have decided to look for new opportunities. That brings Michigan State’s transfer portal total to six players since Saturday’s open practice.

Offensive lineman Justin Stevens and kicker Jack Olsen have also hit the portal since spring ball came to a close. Rainer Sabin of the Detroit Free Press reported on both of the new additions on Monday.

Todd has been at Michigan State since the 2017 season but has not seen any game action with the Spartans. He is a three-time Academic All-B1G selection. Having utilized a redshirt season and with the NCAA’s blanket waiver for the 2020 season, the defensive lineman will have two years of eligibility to use at his next destination.

Eimer came to East Lansing in 2020 and did not play during the season. He also has four years of eligibility remaining.
