Matayo Uiagalelei, a 5-star defensive lineman for the 2023 class has announced his top 3 choices.

On Thursday, Uiagalelei narrowed his decision down to 3 schools, one being Ohio State along with Oregon and USC.

Uiagalelei added in his thoughts on each respective institution, and here’s what he said about Ohio State and why it’s on his list.

Ohio State was one of the first schools I visited and they haven’t changed their championship-level culture one bit, Uiagalelei said. Their development plan that they would have planned for me would make me into a top 10 pick!

The 6-foot-5, 265-pounder is a hot commodity for the 2023 class and wherever he decides on will be a big deal.

Uiagalelei ranks as the No. 23 player in the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that accounts for all 4 major recruiting sites. He also is ranked as the No. 3 defensive lineman and the No. 4 player in the state of California. He’s the younger brother of former Clemson QB DJ Uiagalelei.
