UCF’s opponent in the Boca Raton Bowl has since been reported to be BYU, which will make that one of the best Non-NY6 bowls of the year.

That game will feature an excellent quarterback matchup between BYU’s Zach Wilson and UCF’s Dillon Gabriel. Those two passers have combined to throw for 60 touchdowns and just seven interceptions this season. While Gabriel is just a sophomore, Wilson is a candidate to be a top-10 pick in the 2021 NFL Draft.
North Texas-App State in the Myrtle Beach Bowl also looks like an intriguing Group of 5 matchup.
The first bowl game of the year will be on Saturday, Dec. 19 as SMU and UTSA battle in the Frisco Bowl. This will be UTSA’s second bowl appearance ver and its first since 2016.
