Matt Barrie weighs in on the factor weather played in Ohio State vs. Northwestern

Matt Barrie, host of ESPN’s Sunday Bloody Sunday show, said on Sunday that although Ohio State’s 21-7 win against Northwestern wasn’t pretty, there was a reasonable explanation.
Ohio State got off to a sluggish start on Saturday, and although it got the job done, it was not QB CJ Stroud’s best offensive outing. Stroud was just 10-for-26 passing for only 76 yards, having to rely more on his legs. The QB ran the ball himself for 79 yards on 6 attempts.
Barrie said that the reason for the lack of a passing game was simple, it was weather related. The weather had an impact on the game at Ryan Field with 40 mph+ wind gusts and heavy rain limiting the passing game.
“The weather in Evanston was laughably bad, no one could throw the ball,” Barrie said. “It was just an absolute disaster of weather conditions. No one could throw the ball because of it. Ohio State gets the win 21-7, they just pushed their way through it. By no means did they look good, but they got the win.”
