The Maryland punter who suffered a black eye and received stitches after an altercation during practice earlier this week hasn’t been around the team since the incident, according to interim head coach Matt Canada.
Earlier this week, it was reported that Barber was involved in an altercation earlier this week and received medical attention. The fight was allegedly because he was considered a “whistle-blower” and he was being mocked by pro-Durkin players.
Starting punter Wade Lees is the one accused of hitting Barber during the fight. He was with the team and played on Saturday.
“Whenever I see Matt Barber, we’ll see where he wants to be as far as being on this team,” Canada said after the game.
Maryland suffered a 24-3 loss to Michigan State on Saturday to fall to 5-4 on the year and 3-3 in B1G play.
