Matt Haarms silences Assembly Hall on late tip-in, lifts No. 15 Purdue over Indiana

Purdue survived one of the ugliest, most hard-fought games of the college basketball season.
With time running down and the game knotted at 48-48 between Indiana and Purdue, Carsen Edwards pulled up for a game-winning jump shot, coming up just short on the attempt. But Matt Haarms was in the right place at the right time, tipping the ball back into the basket and lifting the Boilermakers to a 48-46 victory over the Hoosiers.
Indiana had one final chance as Juwan Morgan fired up a last-second three-point attempt, but the shot came up short. Purdue swept the season series and has now won five straight and eight of the last nine in the rivalry series.

Purdue was led by Ryan Cline, who scored 11 points and Edwards had nine. Nojel Eastern scored eight points and grabbed nine rebounds. Haarms finished the night with six points, including the game-winner.
Romeo Langford led the Hoosiers with 14 and Juwan Morgan had nine points. De’Ron Davis had eight points.
Neither team shot the ball particularly well all night. The Boilermakers finished making just 31.7 percent of their shots and the Hoosiers converted on only 27.8 percent. Both teams shot below 21 percent from three-point land.
With the victory, Purdue is now 12-3 in B1G play and is tied with Michigan and Michigan State atop the conference standings. Overall, the Boilers are 19-7.
The Hoosiers are 13-13 on the year and 4-11 in league play.
