Matt Painter, Purdue seniors talk about loss to St. Peter’s in Sweet 16

Purdue’s season came to an end on Friday night, suffering a 67-64 loss at the hands of St. Peter’s in the Sweet 16. While the Boilermakers had Final Four aspirations, they came up a few wins short of meeting their goal.

Turnovers proved to be costly, as Purdue ended the game with 15 compared to St. Peter’s’ 8. The Peacocks also had more success at the free throw line, converting 19-of-21 attempts while the Boilers were 13-of-15.

It was a difficult way for the season to end for Purdue, which spent the entire season ranked inside the Associated Press Top 10. It ends the year with a 29-8 record.
