Mawot Mag came through in the clutch when Rutgers needed him the most. Mag knocked down a three-point shot with under a minute to go in overtime that ended up being quite crucial.
Mag averages 7.2 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 1.2 assists per game for the Scarlet Knights. He doubled his scoring average, finishing with 15 points in Sunday’s win. Rutgers went on to beat Ohio State 68-64 in overtime.
Rutgers needed some more points to distance themselves from the Buckeyes and Mag delivered. Mag found himself unmarked in the corner after one of his teammates dribbled into the paint. Mag nailed the three-pointer after being left on an island.

Rutgers avenged the buzzer beater it suffered against Ohio State earlier in the year by taking care of business at home.
The Scarlet Knights are now 5-2 in conference play with win, which is second best in the B1G. Sunday’s win means that Rutgers now has 13 wins this season. The loss is now Ohio State’s fourth in a row and drops its record to 10-7.
The Scarlet Knights face Michigan State on the road next. Tipoff will be Thursday at 6:30 p.m. ET on FS1.
