D.J. Durkin’s biggest key in recruiting is building a fence around the DMV. If he can do that, he’ll establish the roots necessary to turn around the Terps.
With another big in-state commitment, it appears Durkin is on his way to doing that. More importantly, he landed a recruit who had significant B1G East interest.
Following Saturday’s spring game, four-star offensive tackle Jordan McNair announced his commitment to the Terps:
Blessed to say that I am fully committed to the University of Maryland #TERP'N💯🐢🐢🔴⚫️〽️ pic.twitter.com/Q63cB6BW4f

McNair is Durkin’s seventh 2017 commitment and the third four-star recruit. He picked the Terps over the likes of Auburn, Ohio State, Penn State and more.
The Owing Mills, Md. native is the No. 6 player in the state of Maryland and the No. 32 tackle in the 2017 class. He’s the third fourth player to commit to Maryland in the last nine days.
The 6-5, 285-pound recruit is the first offensive lineman in the Terps’ class.
