With a little more than a month to go until B1G basketball tips off, the media has spoken, and while Michigan has been tabbed the top in the league in their poll, the picks are out for the conference’s Preseason All-B1G team.

While Illinois finished in the third spot in this year’s balloting, the Illini did receive three first-place votes and with the return of Kofi Cockburn will be suiting up the Preseason Player of the Year selection. Cockburn opted to play a third season in Champaign, and received 11 votes, finishing six votes ahead of Purdue’s Jaden Ivey (5) and Ohio State’s EJ Liddell (4).

Cockburn was a near-unanimous selection for the Preseason All-B1G team, picking up 27 of the 28 votes possible, just one more than Liddell and two more than Hunter Dickinson from Michigan. Rounding out the picks are Ivey (21) and Indiana forward Trayce Jackson-Davis (20).
