There’s still time for Scott Frost to figure things out at Nebraska, but faith in him is starting to slide.

Following a third-straight losing season at Nebraska, Frost is now ranked 47th on Tom Fornelli’s Power 5 coach rankings. The ranking is a poll that includes votes from college football writers at CBS Sports and 247Sports.

There’s 65 coaches to be considered, and most of the names ranked behind Frost are in their first or second season as a head coach. He was ranked No. 34 in this same poll last season, representing a drop of 13 spots.

Here’s what Fornelli said about Frost’s ranking:

Only two coaches fell further in this year’s rankings than Frost, and the 13 spots he drops this season are tacked onto the nine he fell last year. That’s 22 spots in two years for a coach widely viewed as a “no-doubt, home-run hire” at Nebraska. Well, he’s 12-20 in three seasons with the Cornhuskers, and that 13-0 season at UCF just seems further away with every loss.

Nebraska went 3-5 last season, and went 3-6 in the Big Ten in each of the two years prior. The Cornhuskers have another tough schedule this season, including a game at Oklahoma in September.

Nebraska also faces both Ohio State and Michigan this season, and will have to face Wisconsin on the road.

The top-25 of this list hasn’t been released yet, but there’s still an interesting list of coaches who are now ranked ahead of Frost: Illinois coach Bret Bielema, West Virginia coach Neal Brown, Kansas State coach Chris Klieman, Kansas coach Lance Leipold, Rutgers coach Greg Schiano, Wake Forest coach Dave Clawson and more.

The top-25 is expected to be released at some point on Wednesday.
