Mel Tucker had a brief update to offer about the group of suspended Michigan State players. It’s been about 9 days since the violent tunnel interaction occurred following the Michigan-Michigan State game on Oct. 29.
Michigan State is still reeling with eight suspended players that were involved in the interaction. MSU’s coach Mel Tucker decided to discuss the suspended players ahead of this week’s B1G matchup with Rutgers during Monday’s afternoon presser.
As for what happened in the tunnel following the heated rivalry game, there hasn’t been any new information. He also pointed out the suspended players will not be able to simply jump back into the rotation without practices or meetings, so their return is likely down the road.
If a guy hasn’t been at practice, he can’t jump in if he hasn’t been in a meeting or even at practice.

Despite the rocky aftermath of the Michigan game, the Spartans are prevailing. They fought hard to get a win in last Saturday’s game over No. 14 Illinois, 23-15. The win put the Spartans back on an encouraging path and their bowl hopes alive with three games left to cap off the season.
MSU will host Rutgers on Saturday at noon ET in a B1G matchup.
