Mel Tucker knows that Michigan State is on the cusp of a bowl-eligible season, but that’s not the priority.
During a Monday afternoon presser, Tucker commented on MSU’s focus heading into its Week 12 matchup with Indiana and the conversation of bowl eligibility. Despite Michigan State struggling to win games at a record of 5-5, the Spartans are one win away from being bowl eligible.
Tucker, when asked about potentially reaching six wins and a bowl game said, “We have a very narrow focus. We can’t get ahead of ourselves.”
The Spartans will be playing at Spartan Stadium on Saturday. They will be celebrating their senior players in their last home game of the season for Senior Day.
“We just want to honor our seniors by playing as hard as we can and giving ourselves the best chance to finish strong,” Tucker added on Senior Day for MSU.
Tucker revealed that bowl eligibility is not the team’s focus, but more so playing the game and finishing strong.
Michigan State will take on Indiana at noon ET on Saturday.
