Mel Tucker revealed how his team is preparing for its rivalry matchup with Michigan.
On Thursday during a taped interview on his weekly radio show, Tucker previewed the Michigan-Michigan State game where he hopes MSU can get a win. Michigan State is seeking its third win in a row in this in-state rivalry.
Tucker added why the Michigan game is not just any game and how the Spartans are gearing up for this battle per Detroit Free Press’ Chris Solari:
It’s not just another game for us. It’s never been that way. It will never be just another game,” said Tucker, who is 16-11 in three seasons at MSU. It’s the biggest game of the year for us, and our players understand that, the staff understands, and our fans understand that. There’s a different type of buzz in the air this week.
The Spartans defeated the Wolverines last year in a B1G top-10 showdown, 37-33 at Spartan Stadium. This year the game will be at the Big House in Ann Arbor and the pressure is on.
Both teams will be battling it out for the Paul Bunyan trophy on Oct. 29 at 7:30 p.m. ET and some bragging rights, of course.
