Mel Tucker wanted to make sure his team was staying focused on the right thing at Monday’s press conference. Michigan State upset No. 16 Illinois 23-15 in Week 10 and East Lansing is raving.
Tucker knows that the win over the Fighting Illini is a great achievement for his team with all the struggles that have happened this season. However, he is already looking ahead to Rutgers.

The Spartan HC has also had the tough task of keeping his players focused after the big win. What it comes down to is not allowing his players to get seduced by success.

At 4-5, Michigan State is just a couple of wins away from reaching a bowl game. Instead of folding the Spartans have stuck with it and have nearly reached their goal.
“We’ve managed to stay together as an organization throughout this season, and it’s paying off right now,” said Tucker.
