Several members of Houston’s coaching staff are paying homage to Mike Leach, who tragically died earlier this month. It will be done in the Cougars bowl game against Louisiana-Lafayette on Friday.
Members of the coaching staff are wearing black hoodies with the word “State” written across the front as a homage to the legendary Leach, who coined the look this past season with Mississippi State.
Leach had a deep connection to the state of Texas, as he spent nine years coaching Texas Tech from 2000-2009.
Leach leaves behind a deep legacy, making an impact wherever he went. He will be remembered not only for his gutsy play calling and coaching style, but for his infectious personality that so many have paid tribute to over the past week.
Many schools have paid tribute to the legendary coach already, and other are bound to over the next few weeks as more bowl games are played.
