Miami (OH) coming to Columbus ‘looking to make a name for themselves,’ Ryan Day says

Ryan Day isn’t interested in dismissing any team on the schedule. Just because Miami (OH) doesn’t have the same level of athletes as Ohio State, the Buckeye leaders doesn’t want his team to become complacent.
On Thursday, Day partook in his weekly radio show on 97.1 The Fan, previewing Ohio State’s final non-conference bout against Miami. The RedHawks bring a 1-2 record to Columbus, with losses to Iowa and Cincinnati. The lone victory came over Tennessee Tech.
Day isn’t worried about the record, though. He believes Miami will be looking to make a statement this weekend.
“They’re going to come in here looking to make a name for themselves,” Days said, according to Bill Rabinowitz of the Columbus Dispatch. “We have to make sure we play as tough as hard and with as much energy as we have in the first three games.”
Ohio State has looked nearly unbeatable through its first three games this season, defeating FAU, Cincinnati and Indiana to start the season. They’re outscoring opponents 138-31 in their 3-0 start.
But Day doesn’t want the Buckeyes to take the RedHawks lightly. If Ohio State wants to accomplish its goals this season, it’ll have to continue to get better this week. That includes another lights out performance against Miami on Saturday.
Saturday will be the final non-conference challenge of the season for Ohio State. On Sept. 28, the Buckeyes get into the meat of the B1G season with a road trip to Lincoln to take on Nebraska.
