Micah Parsons discusses ‘Bittersweet’ preseason debut with Dallas Cowboys

It didn’t take long for Micah Parsons to make an impact in his preseason debut.
The former Nittany Lion recovered a fumble early in the first quarter of the Hall of Fame on Thursday night, giving his team excellent field position. He finished the game with 3 tackles.
After the game, Parsons described the experience of his preseason debut as “Bittersweet.”
“It felt good,” Parsons said, via the Dallas Morning News. “It was bittersweet that I didn’t get to play a lot. I felt like it was a good experience to get my feet wet and get a feel for the game. I made some mistakes; there were some good things. I am just going to build off for it.
“I like to have clean games … I like to be flawless. I like to be perfect. I just like to be great when I play. I put a lot of love and work into my craft, so when I come out here, I just want to be perfect.”
The Cowboys ended up falling to the Pittsburgh Steelers 16-3.
Parsons was the No. 12 overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft. He opted out of the 2020 college football season, but his draft stock didn’t fall far despite the layoff.
The Cowboys are the subject of HBO’s Hard Knocks, which will document their journey through training camp. The first episode airs on Aug. 10.
