Micah Parsons wasted no time establishing himself as an elite playmaker in the NFL. Now, the sack leader of the Dallas Cowboys is not interested in giving that title back anytime soon.
During the 2021 season, Parsons racked up 13 sacks, 20 TFL, 30 QB hits and 3 forced fumbles. In the process, Parsons was named the Defensive Rookie of the Year and an All-Pro selection.
While Parsons had a breakout performance, veteran Dallas teammate and pass-rusher Demarcus Lawrence was limited to 7 games. He also produced just 3 sacks on the year.
Heading into 2022, Lawrence made it clear he is intent on taking back the title as the team’s top sacker. Unfortunately for Lawrence, Parsons made it clear he has no intentions on giving up the reins while setting a big goal for himself.
Micah Parsons: “It makes me want to compete. … I want D-Law to step up. I want him to be who he is. I’m not taking that away from him, but sorry to tell him, he’s never getting that back. … If 10 (sacks) is the number, I’m going for 20. It’s gonna be a race to the quarterback.” https://t.co/X7WClpcyFu
