Former Penn State LB Micah Parsons took part in a home run derby event for charity that was put on by the Dallas Cowboys on Tuesday. It turns out he’s quite the baseball player too.
The event took place at a baseball stadium in Frisco, Texas. Parsons actually ended up winning the event, to no one’s surprise and raised $81,000 for charity by hitting the most home runs according to dallascowboys.com. The player that ended up raising the most money was former Boise State LB Leighton Vander Esch.
The Cowboys’ LB commented on what it’s been like so far in the NFL and participating in events like this with the team:
“I’m just having fun,” Parsons said. “It’s truly great to be a Cowboy, I’m really living the dream every day and every week. Exploring my opportunities and taking advantage of them, and the people I have met. The things I have gotten to do, and this is my first time doing this. So, I’m really excited about it.”
Parsons seems to be enjoying his time in Dallas so far.
Tonight Micah Parson’s launched 400-foot home runs and helping raise $81,000 for charity. Read more here ↓
