Penn State product Micah Parsons had his surreal, welcome to the NFL moment on the national stage last night when the Dallas Cowboys faced the defending Super Bowl champion Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the season opener.
The Cowboys fell to the Buccaneers and along the way, the rookie linebacker had a first-person view of the greatness of quarterback Tom Brady.
Parsons came away extremely impressed with the seven-time Super Bowl champion.
Via Dallas Cowboys staff writer David Helman:
Micah Parsons says he learned the difference between good & great QB play going against Tom Brady tonight.
“You can tell he’s been in the league for 22 years, I’ll say that.”

Brady ended up fooling Parsons on a play-action pass, something that the rookie hopes he can look back on as a teaching moment.
The former Penn State linebacker was selected by the Cowboys in the first round of the 2021 NFL Draft. In 2019, Parsons was a consensus All-American and the Butkus-Fitzgerald Linebacker of the Year after amassing 109 tackles, 14 tackles for loss, five sacks, four forced fumbles, and a fumble recovery.
