A number of injuries have plagued former B1G turned NFL WRs this week, and there’s one more name to add to the ever-growing list.
The Saints announced on Wednesday that Michael Thomas was being placed on the injured reserve list. Thomas has been out since suffering a foot injury in the Week 3 game against the Panthers, and will undergo surgery on his toe. Thomas’ was originally expected to return after several weeks, but surgery could be season-ending for the WR.
Saints’ HC Dennis Allen told reporters today that he does not expect WR Michael Thomas to play again this season.

After a 3-year outstanding career at Ohio State, Thomas was drafted in the second round of the 2016 NFL Draft. He holds the NFL record for the most receptions (510) through his first 5 seasons, along with the most receptions in a single season with 149.
Even after a 2-5 start without Thomas, the Saints are still in the hunt for the NFC South divisional title. The Saints take on the Ravens on Monday.
