Michael Thomas sets NFL record with catch off of beautiful route

Michael Thomas has etched his name into the NFL record books!
The former Ohio State wide receiver and star for the New Orleans Saints is having a remarkable season. He already had eight games with 10+ receptions and 133 total catches heading into Sunday’s game against the Tennessee Titans.
Thomas kept things rolling with another monster performance, putting up 12 catches for 136 yards and a late touchdown. That puts his total up to 145 on the season, eclipsing Marvin Harrison’s single-season record for receptions of 143.

Thomas’ record-breaking catch came on one particularly impressive route. He ran a tight pattern at the line of scrimmage and broke free of his man in the process:

This season marks a third straight for Thomas with more than 100 receptions. He finished his Ohio State career in 2015 with 113 catches for 1,602 yards and 18 touchdowns.
