Michigan did not see a great start to Saturday’s recruiting news, but the Wolverines have turned things around with a key pickup out of Georgia.
To start the day, news broke that former Michigan commitment Brody Jennings was flipping away from the Wolverines with a commitment to Miami. The good news is that Michigan did not have to wait to find a new piece for the 2026 recruiting class.
Saturday evening, 4-star cornerback Dorian Barney revealed that he was committing to Sherrone Moore and the Wolverines. Barney was originally committed to Alabama last May before reopening his recruitment in the fall.
Now, he’s landing on Michigan over Ole Miss, Penn State and Texas A&M:

Barney is listed at 6-foot-1 and 180 pounds as a 4-star cornerback out of Georgia’s Carrollton High School. According to the 247 Sports Composite, Barney is listed as the 14th CB in the entire country and the 148th overall player, regardless of position.
The addition of Barney brings Michigan back up to 20 hard commitments for the 2026 recruiting class in what is still shaping up to be a top-10 recruiting class. We’ll see how the Wolverines can add to that group down the stretch.
