On Saturday night, Michigan football fans will be either at Notre Dame Stadium cheering on the Wolverines or at home glued to their television screens.
Prior to the game featuring two top 15-ranked teams — the AP Preseason Poll has Michigan at No. 14 and Notre Dame at No. 12 — Michigan’s athletics account posted a photo on Twitter.
And, not just any photo. A photo showing the pope with Jim Harbaugh and a Michigan helmet.

If you’ve got the pope on your side, you’re doing something well. And if that helps bring a few fans over to Michigan’s side in the process for tonight’s showdown, that’s even better.
Michigan-Notre Dame is set for a 7:30 p.m. kickoff with the game being televised on NBC.
