Jones has also heard from Texas, Texas Tech, Kansas, TCU, Oklahoma State, Georgia, Virginia Tech, Cincinnati, Memphis and St. John’s, according to the report.
Jones just finished his junior season at Coastal Carolina. He’s been a prolific scorer his entire career, but reached new heights in 2020-21. Last season, he averaged 19.3 points per game. He also contributed 7.2 rebounds, 2.9 assists and 2.8 steals per contest.
Michigan has a talented roster coming in next season, but the Wolverines don’t have a proven perimeter scorer of Jones’ caliber. If they can land him, it would potentially vault them into becoming the prohibitive favorites to win the Big Ten.
Some already view Michigan as the best team in the Big Ten as of now. ESPN’s Joe Lunardi projected the Wolverines as the Big Ten’s automatic qualifier in his latest bracketology for 2022.
