Michigan’s coach Jim Harbaugh replaced starter Joe Milton with Cade McNamara late in the second quarter of Saturday’s game with Rutgers, with the Wolverines trailing 17-0.
McNamara finished the game, helping to lead the Wolverines to a 48-42 comeback victory in triple overtime.
On Tuesday, teammate cornerback Vincent Gray reportedly miss-understood a question about Penn State’s quarterback situation and said he expects McNamara to start for the Wolverines this weekend.
“From the looks of it, I think Cade is going to be starting at quarterback for us this Saturday,” Gray said on a Zoom call with reporters on Tuesday. “Either way, they’re both very talented, and they both do a good job. Either way, I feel like we’ll be fine, to be honest. But I think Cade, he’s got the wheels turning for the offense right now, and I think they’re going to let him keep going.”
For what it's worth, #Michigan CB Vincent Gray just misunderstood a question about Penn State's QB situation and said he expects Cade McNamara to start on Saturday.

As of Monday, Harbaugh hadn’t indicated whether McNamara or Milton will start when Michigan hosts a winless Penn State team on Saturday.
Michigan and Penn State will kick off at 12;00PM ET on Saturday, Nov. 28 in Ann Arbor.
