Michigan DB says Wolverines will prepare ‘like we’re playing Ohio State’ every week

The biggest game on Michigan’s schedule is always Ohio State.

So it makes sense why Michigan defensive back Brad Hawkins says his team wants to prepare for every game like it’s the Ohio State game.

The ironic part to that statement is that Michigan hasn’t beaten Ohio State in 10 years. The last time the Wolverines won their rivalry matchup was when Brady Hoke was coach, meaning Jim Harbaugh hasn’t beaten the Buckeyes in his five years on the sideline.

It also doesn’t help that Ohio State is four-time defending B1G champion and Michigan hasn’t won the league title since 2004 when it shared the top spot with Iowa — although the Wolverines tied for first in the B1G East in 2018 under Harbaugh.

You have to appreciate the confidence, though, right?

This year’s installment of The Game is set for Nov. 27.
