Michigan’s 2020 recruiting class is shaping up to be a good one, particularly on the defensive side of the ball.

The Early Signing Period wrapped up last week with a number of prospects putting pen to paper by signing with the Wolverines. Michigan’s class currently ranks 12th nationally according to 247 Sports, and the defensive side of the ball features a plethora of four-star recruits.

In total, the Wolverines have signed eight defenders rated as four-star prospects. That group is headlined by DE Braiden McGregor, the No. 2 player from the state of Michigan for 2020 who is currently rehabbing from a season-ending injury.

Don Brown, Michigan’s defensive coordinator since 2016, is certainly high on the talent in the class. During a discussion on the Inside Michigan Football radio show, Brown labeled this class as the most athletic and the biggest group they have signed thus far.

Angelique Chengelis with the Detroit News shared Brown’s comments:

Now that they’re in the program, it’s up to Brown and the defensive staff to develop these players. Thankfully, he’ll be working with an extremely talented group.
