It appears Michigan coach Jim Harbaugh doesn’t want to risk any further injury to star defensive lineman Rashan Gary.

Gary, a junior, is not dressed for the team’s homecoming game against Maryland this afternoon:

While the Wolverines coaching staff has not officially disclosed the nature of Gary’s injury, teammate and fellow defensive end Chase Winovich called it a “shoulder problem” earlier this week, according to MLive.com.

Widely considered one of the best in college football at his position, Gary is one solo tackle away from having 100 for his career and boasts 20 tackles for loss — eight of them being sacks — since joining the team in 2016.

Michigan-Maryland was supposed to start at noon EST, but inclement weather has pushed it back to 1:15 p.m.
