Michigan has reportedly put in a response to the Big Ten regarding its pending discipline from the league.

According to ESPN’s Adam Rittenberg and others, the Wolverines officially filed their response to the B1G and commissioner Tony Petitti. Now, it will be up to Petitti to decide how to proceed on whether or not he will impose any discipline.

The situation has been ramping up this week with Michigan AD Warde Manuel skipping the weekly CFP committee meetings in Texas to remain in Ann Arbor. It was also revealed Wednesday that a group of Michigan lawmakers has sent a letter to Petitti urging the commissioner not to take any pre-mature action against Jim Harbaugh or the university.

As for any potential punishment, ESPN’s Heather Dinich reported Wednesday morning that Petitti does have the ability to go beyond a 2-game suspension for Harbaugh. To do so, Petitti would need permission from an executive board, but it’s believed Petitti would get that approval from the board.

It looks like we will soon find out how Petitti and the B1G will respond.
