Eyabi Anoma debuted for Michigan against Colorado State on Saturday. His 1st play was a memorable 1, and ended up becoming the “Call of the Game”

Anoma transferred to Michigan after spending time at Alabama (2018-2019) and UT Martin (2020-2021). The edge rusher appeared in 24 combined games while at those schools, with all 8 of his starts coming at UT Martin. In Anoma’s 1st play at Michigan, he sacked QB Clay Millen in the 2nd quarter and forced the Rams to punt.

Here is what was said in the radio call per Michigan football announcer Doug Karsh:

“Eyabi Anoma comes in, the transfer that just got here,” said Karsh. “And he’s gonna sack Millen. Anoma, his 1st play as a Wolverine, and that will force a Colorado State punt. Boy did he come flying off the edge.”

Michigan went on to beat Colorado State 51-7. The defense did its job, forcing 2 turnovers and had 7 sacks.

If Anoma keeps making plays like this, he should got some more appearances with the Wolverines.
