Michigan has had a great first season under new coach Dusty May, and the Wolverines added to that on Sunday, as they knocked off the Wisconsin Badgers by a score of 59-53 in the B1G Championship on Sunday.

It wasn’t easy for the Wolverines, as they were in trouble in the 2nd half.  Wisconsin guard Kamari McGee made 2 free throws at the 13:11 mark in the second half to give the Badgers a 38-27 lead.

The Wolverines responded by going on an 18-7 run to tie the game with just over 5 minutes left. The game was tied at 53 with 46 seconds left, but Michigan went 6-of-6 from the free throw line to pull away for the win.

Leading the way for Michigan was center Vladislav Goldin and Tre Donaldson, both who finished with 11 points. Goldin is in his first year at Michigan, as he played for May at FAU when they made it to the Final Four.

The Badgers were led by John Blackwell, who finished with a game-high 18 points.

Both of these teams are safely in the tournament, and both are being looked at as a possible 3 or 4 seed.
