Michigan on Tuesday picked up a commitment for its 2026 recruiting class, and it’s a defensive lineman.

Alister Vallejo, from Liberty Hill, Tex. — just outside Austin — announced his pledge to the Wolverines on Tuesday during a commitment ceremony at his high school. He becomes the 9th player to commit to the Wolverines this cycle and is the 3rd defensive lineman to pledge.

According to 247Sports’ composite rankings, Vallejo is considered the No. 48 defensive lineman in his class and the No. 61 overall player in the state of Texas. Apart from Michigan, his other finalists were Kansas and Notre Dame. The 6’3″, 310-pounder was already set to take an official visit to Michigan on June 13 with visits to Kansas and Notre Dame already in the books.

Vallejo currently holds 11 offers, with the only Texas schools on that list being Houston and SMU. Along with his aforementioned finalists, Cal, Memphis, Oklahoma State, Ole Miss, and Oregon State are his other offers, along with Sacramento State.

The Wolverines’ other committed defensive linemen are 4-star Chicago recruit McHale Blade, who committed on Mondau, and Washington, D.C. edge rusher Tariq Boney. Michigan’s class currently ranks No. 31 in the country, according to 247Sports.
