Michigan just landed a big piece to build its 2027 recruiting class around.
Quarterback Peter Bourque is on the board. The blue-chip prospect from Massachusetts announced his plans to play for the Wolverines on Monday.
Out of Marion (Massachusetts) Tabor Academy, Bourque is listed as measuring 6-4 and 190 pounds. On the 247Sports Composite, Bourque is rated 4-tars, the No. 1 player in the state of Massachusetts, No. 6 quarterback and No. 75 prospect overall in the Class of 2027.
Though it’s extremely early in the 2027 recruiting cycle, Bourque had already collected scholarship offers from 28 programs. He committed to Michigan over Penn State, North Carolina, Georgia and others.
Bourque pointed to U-M’s championship tradition as the deciding factor in giving his verbal pledge to the Wolverines.
Michigan has a long tradition in winning including national championships,” Bourque told Steve Wiltfong of Rivals. “To play at a program with expectations like that is something I’ve always wanted to do.
With Bourque on board, Michigan has 3 early verbal commitments in its 2027 recruiting class. Watching Bourque’s 2024 highlights, one would expect some of the top offensive players will look to be joining the talented quarterback in Ann Arbor.
