The Michigan Wolverines have a 4-star quarterback in their 2019 class in Cade McNamara, but on Monday, they added another athlete who can play quarterback.
That athlete is 3-star prospect George Johnson III, a Florida native who is a dual-threat quarterback and a wide receiver.
As you can see below, Johnson tweeted out a first-person essay he wrote for TCPalm.com explaining his decision:

“I’ve visited several schools, and Michigan will be where I’ll be playing football for the next three to four years of my life,” he wrote.
“I love the Big House and the fan base. The first time I walked through the tunnel and onto the field I got chills. I love the history and the size of it. I’d seen it on TV, but it’s bigger in real life. I was there with a group of other recruits, but I was so in awe that I went off my by myself and started running routes into the end zone and dreaming about what it would feel like catching touchdowns in front the Maize and Blue fans.”
According to the 247Sports composite, Johnson is the No. 85 athlete in the class of 2019 and the No. 139 overall recruit from the state of Florida.
The Wolverines now have 16 players in their 2019 class, which currently ranks No. 1 in the Big Ten and No. 5 nationally, per 247Sports.
