Michigan has turned to the transfer portal to add to its wide receiver room.

After playing for UMass and Arizona, Anthony Simpson is heading to Ann Arbor to continue his college football career with the Wolverines.

Simpson is entering Year 5 of his college football career. He has 1 season of remaining eligibility he will use at Michigan thanks to a redshirt for 2024 after being limited to just 2 appearances due to injury.

In 2023, Simpson played in 12 games for the Minutemen, catching 57 passes for 792 yards and 3 touchdowns. He added 11 rushes for 93 yards and 1 score in his junior season.

Simpson began his career at Arizona, spending 2 seasons with the Wildcats.

As a sophomore, Simpson made 11 appearances in 2022. He focused on kickoff return, recording 342 yards on 18 returns. He also had 4 catches for 56 yards.

As a true freshman, Simpson received playing time in the final 7 games of the season, including starts in conference clashes against Cal and Arizona State. He posted 4 catches for 46 yards as a true freshman.
