Thanksgiving ended on somewhat of a bitter note for Jim Harbaugh and Michigan.
On Thursday evening, 3-star defensive end Tyrece Woods announced that he was decommitting from the Wolverines and would reopen his recruitment. The Detroit native had given his verbal pledge in August.
He made the announcement via Twitter.
“I would like to thank Coach Harbaugh, the rest of the Michigan staff and all of the fans for the hospitality and support over the last 4 months,” Woods wrote in a message. “Right now, my family and I feel that it is in my best interest to decommit from Michigan and re-open my recruitment and weigh all of my options.”

Woods is a 6-foot-2, 255-pound defensive lineman and is ranked as one of the top 50 players from Michigan.
The defensive end has received 13 offers, several from MAC schools. Along with Michigan, Woods is receiving interest from Cincinnati, Bowling Green, Ball State and Eastern Michigan.
Michigan’s 2019 recruiting class is now down to 25 members. The Wolverines currently rank ninth nationally and first in the B1G.
