Michigan has its captains for the 2017 season.

According to a tweet from Tyree Kinnel, the Wolverines have named senior lineman Mason Cole and fifth-year linebacker Mike McCray as captains via team vote. Kinnel sent the tweet out on Saturday night:

Cole has been a staple on Michigan’s offensive line over the past three years, making 38 starts in his career. He was an All-B1G second-team selection after the 2016 season and was a preseason All-American selection by Sporting News.

McCray has appeared in 24 games, making 13 starts at linebacker. He had a breakout campaign last fall, racking up 76 tackles, 12.5 tackles for loss and two interceptions. He was an All-B1G honorable mention last year.

Michigan opens the season on Sept. 2 against Florida at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
