Kelze Howard, a 3-star prospect out of Las Vegas, is considering Michigan and Nebraska among his Top 8 schools for commitment. The Nevada native released his list over the weekend.
Howard, who cracks the Top 400 among 247Sports composite rankings overall for the 2023 class, revealed the 8 schools he’s focusing on for the remainder of his recruitment. Michigan and Nebraska are the two B1G programs to make the cut.
“I want to thank all the schools and coaching staffs that have given me the opportunity to continue my academic and football career at the next level,” Howard wrote on Twitter. “I will now be focusing on these top 8 schools.”
Along with Michigan and Nebraska, Howard is also considering Miami, Oregon, Oregon State, Arizona, USC and Utah. He trimmed his list down from 15 offers.

Per the composite rankings from 247Sports, Howard ranks No. 386 overall and is listed as the No. 51 defensive lineman of the cycle. The 6-foot-4, 250-pound lineman is the No. 4 prospect out of Nevada.

Michigan currently has verbal commitments from 6 prospects in the 2023 class, 2 of which are 4-star talents. The Wolverines’ rank 18th nationally, per 247Sports.
Nebraska has pledges from 5 players, all of which own a 3-star ranking. Scott Frost’s Huskers sits 33rd in the national recruiting rankings for the 2023 cycle.
