Shea Patterson returned to Michigan for the 2019 season and the media has anointed the Wolverines as the team to beat in the Big Ten.

Michigan is favored to come out of the Big Ten East division and part of the reason why is the senior QB. Just to compare, Ohio State has a new head coach with a new QB. At Michigan, it’s the exact opposite.

Coming into fall camp, people expected Patterson to look pretty good, but there was one slight worry. Patterson had spent a lot of time in the offseason playing golf.

On Wednesday, Michigan offensive coordinator Josh Gattis talked about Patterson’s play, despite all of the golf:

Gattis appeared to be a bit light-hearted about the whole golf thing. Patterson is a good QB, and everybody knows it. How good can he be, though?

It’s only fall camp, but if the former Ole Miss transfer is playing “lights out” already, opposing B1G defenses may have a tough time stopping him and the massive amounts of weapons the Wolverines have around him.
